Explore post-quantum accounts, try account migration and send transactions through a live explorer built for hands-on testing.

The Telos Zero Quantum Testnet is live, giving the community a practical way to explore post-quantum signatures and help inform what comes next.

The dedicated network runs separately from Telos mainnet and the existing public testnets. It gives us a place to test options, understand their tradeoffs and identify the most suitable path toward quantum readiness.

Create an account and try it

The browser tools make it straightforward to get involved:

  • Create a post-quantum account and save its keys in an encrypted browser wallet.
  • Receive free test tokens from the faucet.
  • Send individual transfers or generate batches of up to 1,000 transfers per run.
  • Migrate an existing lab account to post-quantum owner and active keys while retaining its name and tokens.

You can also generate keys independently of an account. The explorer updates automatically, so you can follow transactions and inspect their signing type as activity happens.

Signing takes place in your browser, and private keys are not sent to the server. Keep a backup of your keys. Test tokens have no monetary value. The browser transaction generator currently sends up to five transactions per second.

Working accounts and block signing

The lab now uses ML-DSA-65 for account transactions and block production. Block 789959 provides a visible example: a transaction signed with ML-DSA-65 inside a block signed with ML-DSA-65, now irreversible.

Other parts of network security still use classical cryptography, including finality and administration. These remain part of the work required for a fully quantum-resistant network.

What we are learning

Before the latest network upgrades, a 10-second lab test kept pace at 140 ML-DSA-65 transactions per second. All 1,400 transactions executed and became irreversible.

That test used pre-signed account updates on one shared VM with four vCPUs and 8GB of RAM; wallet signing was excluded. It describes that specific lab setup. The upgraded configuration needs fresh measurements and longer tests.

Performance is one consideration alongside security, larger keys and signatures, storage costs and the experience of migrating or recovering an account.

Choosing the path forward

ML-DSA-65 is our first candidate, and the final selection remains open. We will compare other signature options, run longer trials and test operation and recovery under more realistic network conditions.

This is a methodical, proactive approach to readiness: give people usable tools, make the findings visible and use the results to guide decisions.

Open the explorer, create a test account and share what you find.

About The Telos Foundation

Telos is a decentralized blockchain ecosystem that includes Telos EVM, which is tested as the fastest Ethereum Virtual Machine globally, and its high-speed consensus layer, Telos Zero. With its continued focus on helping push forward the global adoption of Zero Knowledge technology, Telos is also currently developing a hardware-accelerated Ethereum Layer 2 network powered by SNARKtor, with the goal of enhancing privacy and scalability for global use cases at scale. Telos is overseen by The Telos Foundation, an ownerless foundation dedicated to advancing the Telos blockchain network and its community.
