Telos Secures 100 Million GIGA Tokens for Community as ZK Vision Moves Forward, Stronger Than Ever!

The ZK vision of the Telos Foundation is continuing its journey with full momentum. Despite recent challenges, we are proud to announce that development is not only ongoing but accelerating. The collaboration between the Telos Foundation and the ZK team remains strong, united by a shared belief in the power of decentralization, scalability, and privacy.
SNARKtor coming to Mainnet
SNARKtor, the ZK proof aggregation protocol, is officially scheduled to transition from testnet to mainnet by August 31, 2025. This milestone marks the culmination of months of intense research and development, representing fundamental building blocks for scaling ZK proof on-chain verification in a trustless and efficient manner. It will enable new applications across the Telos network and beyond, from privacy-preserving dApps to scalable L2s to L1 communication.
Introducing GIGA: The ZK-Powered Parallel Blockchain
We’re also thrilled to announce Gigachain (GIGA), a new zk-powered blockchain protocol incubated by Telos and designed to support computationally demanding applications such as on-chain AI and parallel computation.
Telos Secures 100 Million Token, Community-First Partnership in Giga Incubation Deal
The Telos Foundation has secured a community-first agreement that ensures Telos holders benefit directly from GIGA’s success. Upon successful fundraising and mainnet launch, 100 million GIGA tokens (10% of the total supply) will be distributed to the Telos ecosystem:
- 50M GIGA: Airdrop to $TLOS stakers (via REX or sTLOS)
- 30M GIGA: Activity-based rewards for stakers
- 20M GIGA: Grants for developers building zk apps utilizing SNARKtor technology
This provides $TLOS holders with early and exclusive access to one of the most advanced ZK stacks being developed today, simply by staking their tokens. Snapshots of staked tokens will be split between 6 epochs, where the earlier you stake, the more you make. More details on this will be released in the coming weeks.
Shared Governance, Shared Innovation
Developer grants will be jointly governed, ensuring that resources fuel innovation across both ecosystems. This program will enable the development and deployment of a new wave of ZK-powered applications (ZK dApps) across the Telos ecosystem. Most importantly, technological breakthroughs will be shared, creating a flywheel effect where progress on one chain accelerates progress on the other.
